Center for the Book Publications List

One of the delights of books is their infinite variety and direct insight into topics which, at first glance, often seem quite specialized.

Publication highlights include a 1983 program with the Authors League of America about the idea of a public lending right in the United States; the Library of Congress Book of Literary Maps (1999); articles about centers for the Book in Great Britain, Russia, and South Africa (1990-2004); a history of Kroch & Brentano’s bookstore in Chicago (1988); and a “backwards alphabet book,” with contributions from 26 internationally known designers and illustrators (1989).
